Celebrate the start of spring with this week’s Design Challenge: Floral Block Prints. Blend nostalgia and modern charm to create an heirloom-worthy pattern that evokes the countryside. Your design should be inspired by printmaking that uses wooden blocks to transfer repeating designs onto textiles. Include carved details, stamped textures and ink-inspired colors to embrace this technique.
Details
Focus on flowers as your primary subject matter. Use classic blooms or experiment with more abstract, stylized flowers to create a uniquely repetitive pattern that feels cohesive, much like the craftsmanship of block printing. Because entries will be shown on wallpaper, keep in mind a palette and scale that works well for interior design to turn any wall into a floral-filled masterpiece!
