The CFA International Cat Show and Expo is just 90 days away, and we couldn’t be more excited! As the most anticipated event in CFA each year, this spectacular gathering of the cat fancy attracts 15,000 cat lovers annually to Cleveland. With engaging competitions, expert presentations, shopping, and now breeder showcases, it’s the ultimate celebration of our shared passion for cats.

This year, we’re thrilled to introduce something new and special, specifically for CFA breeders only – Cattery Booths! These booths are designed to shine a spotlight on the dedication, love, and expertise you pour into your breeding program. Just like our vendors, you deserve a place to tell your story, showcase your beautiful cats and kittens, and connect with attendees who appreciate your commitment to the cat fancy.

WHY RESERVE A CATTERY BOOTH?

The CFA International Cat Show and Expo is more than just an event; it’s a destination for cat lovers from across the globe. This makes your presence, and the way you present your program, all the more valuable.

By showcasing your ethical practices and the exceptional quality of your cats, you build a bond of trust that speaks volumes. FROM WEIRD TO WONDERFUL Discover 3 of Mother Nature’s Quirky Breeds at The Cat Expo https://cfa.org/catexpo/from-weird-to-wonderful-discover-3-of-mother-natures-quirky-breeds-at-the-cat-expo/ https://cfa.org/catexpo/from-weird-to-wonderful-discover-3-of-mother-natures-quirky-breeds-at-the-cat-expo/#respond Wed, 02 Oct 2024 16:18:41 +0000 https://cfa.org/catexpo/?p=4362
In the captivating world of feline genetics, certain cat breeds have embraced Mother Nature’s natural mutations, resulting in unique and fascinating appearances. The Sphynx, Lykoi, and Selkirk Rex are standout examples, each with a distinctive coat that sets them apart. Let’s clear the air: when we talk about mutations in genetics, we’re not diving into anything negative. Mutations are simply natural variations in genes and alleles that can lead to unique traits. In the case of these feline friends, it means their coats are delightfully different from the norm. The Sphynx is known for its nearly hairless appearance, offering a velvety texture that’s as soft as it is unusual. The Lykoi, often called the “werewolf cat,” features a sparse, roan coat that gives it a wild yet endearing look. Meanwhile, the Selkirk Rex boasts a curly, plush coat that feels as luxurious as it looks. For those of you drawn to the extraordinary, these breeds provide a perfect opportunity to embrace the unusual. If you’re intrigued by the allure of these unique cats, make your way to the CFA Cat Expo. It’s the perfect occasion to meet these one-of-a-kind felines and maybe even find a new furry companion to take home. Whether you’re a seasoned cat lover or a curious newcomer, these breeds promise to captivate and charm with their natural beauty and distinctive appeal. 🐾

Hello Fellow Cat Fancier!

Do you know the tale of how the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) got its start and how that cherished spirit is still vibrant today at the CFA Cat Expo? Picture this: it was 1906, a time when a group of passionate cat lovers yearned to gather and celebrate their feline friends. In those early days, cat lovers gathered at events filled with joy and camaraderie, where they could celebrate their beloved furballs, share and gain knowledge about everything feline, capture cherished memories, and engage in some friendly, whisker-twitching competitions.

Back then, there weren’t any feline gurus; enthusiasts had to learn everything themselves. It’s much like your own cat universe today, where you chat with fellow feline aficionados who share your passion and obsession. This marked the dawn of the cat fancy—a charming hobby for anyone enchanted by the magic of cats and, the birth of The Cat Fanciers’ Association.

Fast forward to today, and the world of popular cat culture is brimming with hundreds of thousands who share this passion, each one a cat fancier at heart. If you’re reading this, chances are you too are among those who adore cats, making you part of this ever-growing community. Back when CFA first began, there were fewer cat enthusiasts, and the gatherings were intimate. But oh, how times have changed!

Whether your heart beats for pedigreed cats, non-pedigreed companions, rescue efforts, feline welfare, health, veterinary care, feline arts, or creating cat-centric products, this celebration is for you. We invite everyone—from famed cat personalities and influencers to those who simply revel in the joy of having a cat by their side—to join us in this grand celebration.

Let’s come together to honor our shared love for these magnificent creatures and keep the spirit of CFA alive! 🐾🎉
