A. To determine the color of a shaded or smoke cat consider only the color of the tipping:
Chinchilla or Shaded Silver = Black
Shaded or Shell Cameo = Red
Shaded or Shell Tortoiseshell = Tortoiseshell
Chinchilla or Shaded Golden = Black
Blue Smoke = Blue
Black Smoke = Black
Cameo Smoke = Red
Smoke Tortoiseshell = Tortoiseshell
Blue-Cream Smoke = Blue-Cream
B. To determine the color of a tabby cat use the following:
Silver Tabby = Black
Blue Tabby = Blue
Brown Tabby = Black
Red Tabby = Red
Cream Tabby = Cream
Cameo Tabby = Red
Silver Patched Tabby = Tortoiseshell
Blue Patched Tabby = Blue-Cream
Brown Patched Tabby = Tortoiseshell
C. The color of a bicolor is determined by the non-white color of the cat:
Calico = Tortoiseshell
Dilute Calico = Blue-Cream
Blue & White = Blue
Red & White = Red
Cream & White = Cream Black & White = Black
